Tested for you: Eyeshadow palette “Mothership II: Sublime” by Pat McGrath Labs
I think it’s one of those things with an eyeshadow palette. It always contains lots of colors, but you don’t like or can’t wear them all. But with “Mothership II: Sublime” by English make-up artist Pat McGrath, it’s a different story. It’s not just that all the colors are great. Even the packaging, a black high-gloss box in the style of antique Japanese lacquer boxes with gold embossing on the lid, is a gem in itself. So if you are still looking a brilliant New Year’s Eve make-up, I can only recommend this palette.
Eyeshadow palette in a jewelry box
The “lacquer box” of the eyeshadow palette is anything but lightweight. It is heavy and precious in the hand. When you open the lid, the first thing you see is a polished mirror on the inside. And then you are presented with ten gorgeous eyeshadow colors – from a light rose (Skinshow Glow) and a glittering bronze shade (Iconic) to “Xtreme Black” and an emerald green (Blitz Emerald).
“This eyeshadow palette is an array of powerhouse, pigmented shades with brilliant bronzes, silky mattes and surreal sparkle! Mothership II: Sublime delivers transformative looks ranging from everyday subliminal to high-glamour radiant luminosity! It amplifies iconic illumination…it’s BEYOND!“, says Pat McGrath about her eyeshadow palette.
Backstage-inspired
The palette’s colors are inspired by the sultry glamour of one of Pat’s most captivating make-up masterpieces on the catwalk. This second collection in the Mothership range combines smoky, matte neutrals and luminous bronzes with shimmering, fiery coppers, poetic pinks and a mesmerizing emerald sheen.
The six smooth and ultra-smooth Powderluxe eyeshadows offer an incredibly creamy feel and provide an even, intense color payoff. There are also four hybrid formulas that illuminate the lids in a range of reflective finishes. They range from metallic and satin sheen to heavenly shimmer and a holographic hue.
All colors are designed to work well on any skin tone and allow you to create endless glamorous looks. The creamy, easily blendable textures can be used wet or dry.
Pat’s make-up tips
Apply “Skinshow Glow” to the brow bone. Press it onto the center of the eyelid to create a light shimmer. Dab it onto the inner corner of the eye with a small brush. For an all-over highlight, dust it on the highest points of the face. If you want to create an unearthly illumination, apply “VR Nectar” and “Astral Ghost Orchid” with a brush moistened with water.
To create a soft smokey eye, apply “Copper Toned”, “Iconic” and “Rose Dusk” to the eyelid. Apply them individually or in several layers. Use “Blitz Emerald” to add a hint of glittering green or “Bronze 005” to add a metallic shimmer to the lid, lash line, outer corner of the eye or the entire eye.
Use “Dark” and “Xtreme Black” to sculpt the crease, the eye socket, the lash line and the outer corner of the eye. Brunettes can also use “Dark” as an eyebrow color.
