Tested for you: Wow brows with “Brow Set” from Real Techniques

Wow brows everyone wants, because only a beautiful arch over the eyes gives the face an attractive frame and more expression. No matter which styling of the eyebrows is currently in fashion. Were it in the 90s still super narrow plucked, almost stroke-like arches, is now every look possible. Whether fluffy and voluminous or prefer natural and laminated. Wow brows by nature, hardly anyone is blessed with that. Even if they have grown as bushy and prominent as top model Cara Delevingne’s, you have to do something about it. Because very lush eyebrows often have bristly hairs that stick out wildly and untamed in all directions. Three sets for wow brows From Real Techniques there is now a new collection with different “Brow Sets” for the different requirements and corresponding tools for filling, blending and modeling the eyebrows. There is a 2-in-1 Brush (5.99 euros) for all make-up minimalists. The “Dual-Ended Brow Brush” combines two functions in just one tool: With the finely angled head of the Wide Angled Brow Liner, the eyebrows are filled in and brought into the desired shape. The Brow Spoolie then fixes unruly hairs and gives a natural-looking fullness. Also ideal for wow brows when traveling and in combination with brow gel and powder. If you want a little more styling without investing too much time in your wow brows, use the “Brow Styling Set” (€14.99). It consists of three parts: The Long Handled Brow Brush gives the eyebrows a voluminous look and prepares them for the next steps. Then the Wide Angled Brow Liner and the Brow Spoolie are used. They define the eyebrows with the help of brow powders and creams. The Brow Hold and Precision Brow Spoolie Brush guarantee a perfect finish. With these, the styled eyebrows are carefully pressed upwards and fixed in their shape. Perfect shape I opted for the three-piece “Brow Shaping Set”. It is optimal for my demands for perfectly styled eyebrows. All three products have two useful ends. In the case of the tweezers, it is an Angled Tweezer and a Pointed Tweezer. The middle of the tool is so “slim” that the device fits well in the hand. It can be used to remove all unwanted hairs – fine or stubbly – effortlessly. I use the Flat Brow Brush with the Spoolie, a slightly larger spiral brush at the other end, to apply color powder for a bit more volume, blend in evenly and set.… weiterlesen

Tested for you: The new “Blush & Glow Duo Stick” from Kess Berlin

The Duo Stick has long been a cult item at Kess Berlin. As a purse-friendly everyday essential, I can’t imagine doing without it for my daily facial makeover. It offers everything I love when it comes to make-up: a multitasker with which you can conjure up a complete, unexciting make-up in a “stick twist” that only takes a few minutes. I love! Duo Stick: a mix & match concept The upgrade of the vegan Iconic bestseller took two years of development. First, the exterior: The new more robust and user-friendly Duo Stick Case is made of lightweight aluminum in glossy white instead of the previous matte plastic shell. In addition, all external parts are coated with a special transparent and glossy protective lacquer. This not only makes the Duo Stick easier to clean, but also gives it a higher-quality look and makes it more robust and thus more durable.Together with a more sustainable refill option, 43 percent plastic is saved. Since the used, empty refills still have to be disposed of, Kess has chosen polypropylene as the only mono-material for this, as it is easier to recycle and therefore more environmentally friendly. Customized or off the rack The new version of the Duo Stick offers endless customization options for blush and highlighter, as the refills can be replaced individually. You can always buy new shades and insert them into your Duo-Stick case without having to buy another one. If you don’t want to do that, you can continue to use the Blush & Glow combinations pre-made by Kess. I like the individualization and I have also immediately purchased the two new blush shades Flirt and Berry for the next few months. Inserting the refills at the end of the stick is easy thanks to a user-friendly click-in mechanism. You remove the cap of the empty case, click in the refill. When you hear the click, everything fits. Then you remove the clear safety cap from the refill and close it with the cap of the stick. Replacing a refill is just as easy: just pull it out to remove it! Click – blush – glow I am especially happy about “Flirt”. The refreshing red tone with warm undertones is exactly my color. It looks really bright in the pencil, but blended thinly on the cheekbones it gives the perfect “naturally flushed cheeks” look with a satin matte finish. I also like to spread a touch under my brows, and applied a little thicker I use it instead of lipstick.… weiterlesen

Tested for you: 20 “Very Valentino” concealers from Valentino Beauty

A new concealer from my favorite of the Italian fashion and now beauty brands. I love the fashion – especially the shoes – of Valentino Garavani, who founded Maison Valentino in Rome in 1960. Even if the brilliantly beautiful pieces are often beyond my purse capacity, I always like to look at them and wait impatiently for the new collections. No question, until today Maison Valentino is one of the most elegant and glamorous couture houses in the world. Pierpaolo Piccioli, Creative Director of Valentino since 2008, founded the Valentino Beauty brand with a completely new beauty concept. With the three iconic codes – Color, Cool and Couture – he breaks with the old make-up rules and the previously conventional make-up stereotypes. In this way, everyone can highlight their own individuality. For every moment and every mood, he finds the appropriate color. Concealer with three ways of application This concept is also followed by the new concealer “Very Valentino” with 20 perfectly graduated shades from the three color families pink, neutral, amber and the exclusive Roma-Light Complex, which is designed to make facial features shine. Depending on the color choice, the extensive color palette offers three different application options – for brightening, concealing and contouring. And it does so for 24 hours and 100 percent reliably, the description says. I’ll have to try that out. I pull the spring applicator out of the container. It’s wider than you’d expect and flexible. It has a flat side for application and an ultra-fine tip that’s good for reaching every corner of the eyes. Shadows are usually darkest at the inner corners of the eyes. The tip releases just the right amount of color. The flexibility of the applicator ensures that the color can be spread thinly but precisely. Lightweight and nourishing The texture of the concealer is so light that you can hardly feel it on your skin. This is especially important to me because I can’t stand the feeling of being covered up. The creamy formula also has a nourishing effect thanks to glycerin, caffeine and vitamin E. The skin can breathe despite full coverage and never dries out, so that more wrinkles can not form as is the case with too dry products. Let’s face it: covering shadows under the eyes and brightening the bridge of the nose and the cupid’s bow above the upper lip work perfectly. But what about contouring?… weiterlesen

Beauty Timing For Face, Neck and Dekolleté

Beauty treatments are her profession. As a dermatologist, Dr. Tatiana von Bayern is an expert in the field of aesthetic medicine with laser and radiofrequency therapies. But also operative dermatology, phlebology as well as skin cancer prevention belong to her main areas of expertise. Here, the Munich doctor explains which beauty treatments are best scheduled and undertaken at which time of year. For beauty treatments timing is everything. What applies to surprises, business planning and vacation trips is also useful for dermatological treatments. In minimally invasive and non-invasive treatments to improve and optimize the face, neck and décolleté, the perfectly chosen timing can influence the effect of the procedure and the regeneration afterwards. In this way, the seasons can become a supportive beauty helper. Period May till September In spring and summer, I do not advise beauty treatments that involve crusting, peeling or reddening of the skin. This is because, despite adequate sun protection, there is a risk of pigmentary shifts forming, especially hyperpigmentation, due to the increased UV rays at this time of year. Therefore, for the warmer months, I recommend injection treatments such as Botox, hyaluronic acid, poly-L-lactic acid, calcium hydroxylapatite, PRP and mesotherapy. I like to combine these with more non-invasive treatments like Hydrafacial or Jetpeel for a radiant glow and pore-deep clean skin. My extra tip: Botulinum toxin is a very effective combination with which we achieve very good results. I use it against all mimic wrinkles and wrinkles of the upper third of the face including crow’s feet in combination with hyaluronic acid fillers in case of volume loss or existing wrinkles. For a particularly natural effect, I recommend injections with poly-L-lactic acid for already wrinkled and sagging skin. This promotes elasticity and tightens the skin on the face, neck, décolleté, but also on the upper arms, abdomen, buttocks and legs. Period January to April and October to December The cold and dark months of autumn and winter are the ideal time to promote skin regeneration and new collagen formation. At Schlosspalais Dermatology, I and my team enjoy working with fractional laser and radiofrequency therapy, microneedling, and fruit acid and/or retinol treatments for this purpose. This time of year is also particularly suitable for the treatment of pigmentary shifts, sun spots and dilated vessels using lasers or IPL (flash lamps). The prevailing, lower UV content reduces the risk for pigmentary shifts in the skin, especially for permanent hyperpigmentation.… weiterlesen

May A Woman Be Only Smart Or Only Sexy Or Smart And Sexy At The Same Time?

A woman like this immediately stands out when she enters the meeting room: she has long, brown hair tied back in a tight plait. She is wearing a pinstripe suit that emphasizes her feminine shapes, a white blouse and a silver brooch. Her high black shoes make her look even taller. Whispering voices can already be heard from a corner of the room, suggesting that she must be the new lawyer. Her professional appearance and the documents under her arm confirm this impression. But when she introduces herself, it becomes clear that she is the new student trainee who still has a lot to learn… This example of a woman shows that clothing often has a major influence on first impressions. However, many women nowadays no longer dare to dress the way they want to. All too often you still hear the opinion that women can either be intelligent or sexy. Swetlana Posdnyschewa, Stylist, image maker and visual brander, explains in an exclusive guest article why now is exactly the right time to bring both characteristics to the outside world. “Clothes make the man” – is that true? A large German bank once started an experiment: While the experienced employees of a branch dressed in jeans and sweaters, trainees were allowed to present themselves in suits and shirts or blouses. After a week, the employees noticed that customers were more likely to turn to the trainees to clarify their financial questions. And although they had not yet completed their training and therefore did not have the knowledge, they were perceived as more competent simply because of their clothing. This is exactly what Swetlana Posdnyshewa experiences in her daily life. When she quickly goes to the supermarket around the corner to get some fish for a delicious dinner, she is perceived and treated completely differently depending on what she is wearing. If she’s in a jogging suit because she’s run off straight after her daily chores, she gets the fish wrapped up and may at best enjoy a “Have a nice day” greeting from the cashier. However, if she has just come from a customer appointment and is wearing appropriate clothing that harmonizes with her make-up, the staff behind the counter would even fillet the fish for her, cut it into bite-sized pieces and suggest a suitable recipe. The environment receives exactly the signals that we send out The perceptions that we present to the outside world and convey to others are precisely the reactions that we receive from our environment.… weiterlesen

Tested for you: Body cream “Magic Body” from Charlotte Tilbury

She is just magic! Anyone who has ever seen Charlotte Tilbury live will confirm it: The red-haired Englishwoman is a true bundle of energy, a whirlwind. Wherever she appears, she owns the stage and the attention of everyone present. Charlotte Tilbury is a name to know in the beauty world. She has worked as a makeup artist for all the major magazines and has done makeup on numerous famous faces – from Kate Moss to Kim Kardashian. Charlotte’s own make-up and skincare line is now just as well-known. She likes to call her interviewees Darling. Unsurprisingly, that’s also the way she addresses customers in her online store. Charlotte Tilbury Beauty’s signature product and best-selling item is “Charlotte’s Magic Cream” for the face, which Charlotte says works like “magic on the skin” – and this instantly. It has taken ten years for her to now work with skincare experts and leading laboratories to launch a rich body cream with the same moisturizing and radiance-enhancing properties like the “Magic Cream”. “DARLINGS, THIS IS MAGIC SKIN FOR EVERY BODY!” -Charlotte Tilbury “Magic Body” is said to be a body care innovation of eight ingredients designed to firm as well as define the body so that the skin appears visibly and noticeably smoother and firmer. Tilbury explains her matrix of eight “magic” active ingredients, which are also contained in the “Magic Cream”, as follows: It is a research-based compilation of highly effective skin care substances such as hyaluronic acid, vitamins C and E, aloe vera, frangipani extracts, camellia oil, rosehip oil and shea butter. Added to this is the innovative Algaktiv Uplift technology with the power of plant-based active ingredients, which is clinically proven to visibly and noticeably tighten, define and firm the skin. A well-known ingredient in skin and especially body care is caffeine. The energizing booster ingredient helps to vitalize the skin and is also said to reduce the signs of cellulite. My test of the “Magic Body Cream“ “Charlotte’s Magic Body Cream” comes out of the tube white and rich. It is strongly perfumed, so not for purists. I like the scent and also the consistency of the cream. It absorbs well and gives the skin a nice glow without being greasy. In fact, the skin looks well nourished and moisturized, which lasts all day and gives a pleasant feeling – not least thanks to plant oils and shea butter. I use the cream for the entire body, massaging it into the problem areas particularly intensively, as Charlotte also recommends.… weiterlesen

Tested for you: Eye cream “DetO2x Eye” from Valmont

A new eye cream that finally evens out my dark circles? Not an easy task. Because my dark circles have been with me all my life. No matter how much I sleep, party or work. The rings are the heritage of my grandmother – who, however, throughout her life did not worry about the shadows under her eyes. On the contrary: as a young woman, she often acted and used the slightly wicked touch that the rings under her eyes gave her to role-play effectively. Eye cream with apple stem cells I have also made friends with them. But the concept of Valmont’s new “DetO2x Eye” does interest me: It is supposed to activate the skin’s oxygen supply via a CO2 complex and make the eye area glow beautifully again – within 15 minutes. And thanks to the apple stem cells of a particularly resistant Swiss variety à la longue, it is supposed to stimulate cell renewal. The “circle” test When unscrewing the jar, this eye cream already shows that it is something special. Instead of the usual cream or fluid texture, it reveals a fluffy mousse-like consistency, like you’d find in the line’s face cream. Upon application, you can feel (and hear) the little oxygen bubbles – it feels light and cool. The eye cream smells only delicately floral, but fresh. And there’s something else you notice immediately: that you’ve taken far too much – because the eye cream is extremely productive. It is nevertheless quickly absorbed and leaves a slight feeling of tension, which is not unpleasant – but rather has a “hello awake” effect. The eye area feels pleasantly soft and supple, and actually looks somehow tightened. Afterwards make-up is no problem, because the cream is not greasy. My conclusion Radiant eye area? Check! Small wrinkles conjured away? Yess! Circles under the eyes? Well… to be honest, they are not gone. But: they seem somewhat softened, because the skin really shines, which makes the area look much fresher. And to the honorary rescue one must say: Eye circles can be also genetically caused (the grandma!) and thus cream-resistant. That’s why mine just belong to me. Eye circles, however, which are caused by stress or environmental influences, will certainly be less. P.S. The cream is definitely at the upper end of the price range – but, as I said before: It is very economical and, it sounds crazy, but through the foam texture you almost have the feeling that it refills itself again and again.… weiterlesen

Tested for you: Multitasker “Cream Blush” by Tata Harper

Multitasker. I love these products that serve more than one function. The new Cream Blush from Tata Harper is such an all-rounder. You can use it to set the scene for cheeks, lips and eyes. And then it comes in six great shades: Peachy, a delicate golden shimmering peach shade; Naughty, a ruby red; Flirty, a bold berry shade; Spicy, a terracotta rosé; Lovely, a delicate old pink and Lucky, a bronze orange. That makes the choice really, really hard. Lucky makes me lucky I have chosen the color Lucky for my multitasker. Why? Not only because the name already puts me in a positive mood. Summer is approaching and with it a beautifully sun-tanned complexion. Since my skin is naturally tinted anyway, I find the bronze-orange exciting. First, apply the Multitasker Blush on the cheeks. It’s weightless and slightly sheer. I use my fingers to do this because I find that it makes the creamy texture blend better. Immediately, my cheeks get a hint of freshness with a satiny, softly shimmering finish. It also leaves the skin feeling nourished. I read up on the ingredients: Antioxidants, vitamins and other nutrients have a nourishing effect, provide the skin with plumping moisture and protect it from environmental influences at the same time. Multitasker for a complete make-up For those who want more color on the cheeks, no problem either for the multitastker. The ultra-creamy formula melts so nicely on the skin that it’s easy to build up in multiple layers. For me, however, a touch of color is enough at the moment because I like it to look as natural as possible and not “made up”. For the other parts of the face, I use a corresponding brush in each case to distribute the blush as a soft highlighter under the brows and to apply it as color on the lips. In the blink of an eye, I have made up a complete day makeup – with only one product. Fantastic, this multitasker! A word more about Tata Harper I have been following the brand for many years. On any beauty shelf where Tata Harper is sold, the bright green packaging of the products immediately catches the eye. Green stands for 100 percent Green Beauty – 100% natural, 100% effective, luxurious natural cosmetics. The concentrated, multi-active formulas contain no fillers or generic pre-made bases, are Ecocert certified, animal-tested and gluten-free. They come in environmentally friendly, recyclable packaging.… weiterlesen

Dry Shampoo Instead Of Washing Your Hair?

Gegen Bad Hair Days gibt es nichts Besseres als Trockenshampoo. Keine Diskussion. Was will man mehr! Das gleicht kein noch so perfekt geschminktes Make-up aus, wenn die Haare platt und mit fettigen Ansätzen am Kopf kleben. Als Alternative geht dann nur noch Joe Cockers Tipp: leave your hat on! Trockenshampoo: Was ist drin?

Tested for you: Nars Holiday Edition

Nars X-mas-Higlights! Still looking for a Christmas gift in a hurry or want to make your beauty look even more glamorous for the holidays? Then the Holiday Edition of Nars is just the thing for you. For me, too, by the way. I have opted for two products from the Limited Edition. The “Stargaze Eyeshadow Palette” makes her stars decorated, black lacquer case not only visually much. It contains twelve intensely pigmented eyeshadows with velvety nude shades and shimmering colors. With the matte shades, you can create the perfect smoky eyes. Prefer something more dramatic? You can achieve that with pearlescent powder. Satin shades with creamy shine and glittering pigments make the eyes shine. With the twelve colors, countless looks can be made up and reinvented again and again. Nars: pure Hollywood glamour All colors can be blended seamlessly. They are pure glamour, which is also reflected in the names of the individual eyeshadows such as Hayworth as a homage to Rita Hayworth, the unforgotten Hollywood star of the 40s. Another is called Instant Stardom or Walk of Fame. With the highly pigmented shakes, however, you can not only create countless shades, but also set highlights or use them more puristically as a liner for the eyes. The shimmery shades can be applied alone or in layers for a dramatic glow. The glitter colors can be applied dry or moistened, for example with the “Cream Blending Brush” from Nars, to achieve a metallic finish. Nars: Starstruck lips Great eye make-up needs a more subtle lip color. The “Starstruck Audacious Lipstick” in the new, trendy shade Ava is the perfect complement and goes well with all Eyeshadow creations. It is a warm beige tone, strong but not obtrusive. The luxurious texture feels like silk on the lips, but offers full coverage from the first application and leaves a moisturizing feeling for many hours. The lipstick itself is adorned with an eye-catching star embossing, and it comes in a golden case littered with the Holiday Edition star design. „Stargaze Eyeshadow Palette“ with 12 shades, $60 „Starstruck Audacious Lipstick“ in Ava, $34… weiterlesen
